good dog biscuits

INGREDIENTS:

2 1/2 CUPS OF WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR OR SUBSTITUTE IF DOG HAS ALLERGIES

3/4 CUP OF NONFAT MILK POWDER.

1 EGG, BEATEN

1/2 CUP OF VEGETABLE OIL

2 BEEF CUBES

3/4 CUP OF BOILING WATER

2 TBSP BROWN SUGAR

DIRECTIONS:

1) Preheat oven to 150 degrees, gas mark 2, lightly grease a cookie sheet 

2) Dissolve beef cubes in boiling water, and allow to cool.

3) Combine the flour, milk,beef broth, egg, oil and brown sugar. Mix well and knead for 1 minute.

4) On a floured surface roll out dough until 1/4 inch thickness, cut out bones and place on cookie sheet

5) Bake for 30 minutes then allow to cool.

6) Store in airtight container.

Apple Carrot Dog Biscuits

Doggie favourites !!! Don't forget to core your apple before grating, apple seeds are not good for dogs !! Will make either 12 large cookies or using a small cookie cutter up to 24.

RECIPE:

2 1/2 CUPS OF WHEAT FLOUR OR ALMOND FLOUR IF YOUR DOG HAS ALLERGY

1/2 CUP OF OATS

1 TBSP OF BROWN SUGAR

1 APPLE , CORED AND GRATED (LEAVE SKIN ON )

1/2 CUP OF CARROTS PEELED AND GRATED

1 EGG, BEATEN

1/3 CUP VEGETABLE OIL

1/4- 1/2 CUP OF WATER (PLEASE NOTE APPLE WILL ADD MOISTURE SO ONLY ADD EXTRA IF NECESSARY).

DIRECTIONS:

1) Preheat oven to gas mark 4 or 180 degrees if electric

2) Core and grate apples, peel and grate carrots or use food processor

3) In one bowl mix flour, oats and sugar. In a separate bowl beat the egg then add the oil, water, apple and carrots, add the wet mixture bowl into the dry mixture and mix completely.

4) Carefully roll dough out and cut out desired shape with small cookie cutter.

5) Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until apple juices are soaked and biscuits are firm. 

6) Once cooled feel free to share with your furbabies, store in airtight storage container.

Tasty Pumpkin & peanut butter treats

These treats look amazing !!! The recipe will give you at least 30-ish large treats:

INGREDIENTS

DOG BISCUITS

1) 1 CUP OF PUMPKIN

2) 1/2 CUP OF PEANUT BUTTER

3) 2 EGGS

4) 1/4 CUP OF OIL ( COULD USE NORMAL VEG OIL OR COCONUT OIL WOULD WORK)

5) 2 1/2 CUPS OF WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR 

6) 1 TSP BAKING SODA

GLAZE

1) 2 TBSP BACON GREASE - MELTED

2) 1/4 CUP OF SMOOTH PEANUT BUTTER

 

INSTRUCTIONS

1.PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES

2. COMBINE PUMPKIN, PEANUT BUTTER, EGGS AND OIL IN A BOWL. ADD IN BAKING SODA AND WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR. STIR UNTIL A STIFF DOUGH FORMS. KNEAD DOUGH OR MIX UNTIL INGREDIENTS ARE COMBINED.

3) ROLL OUT DOUGH WITH A ROLLING PIN AND USE A COOKIE CUTTER TO CUT OUT BONE SHAPES OR JUST CIRCLES LIKE COOKIES. BAKE FOR 15 MINUTES.

4) WHISK THE BACON JUICE AND PEANUT BUTTER UNTIL VERY SMOOTH, DRIZZLE OVER THE TREATS AND COOL TIL GLAZE HARDENS ( IN FRIDGE OR FREEZER).

TASTY CHICKEN DOG TREATS

These treats can be made from the oven or frozen for a yummy treat for your furbaby.......

BAKED TREATS.

For these you will need a mould tin either like the picture or shape of your choice

1 cup of finely diced cooked chicken

1/2 cup of rice , cooked and mashed

3 tbsp rice flour

1 tbsp parsley

1 egg

Preheat oven to 180c

Mix together all the ingredients stirring well, spoon into moulds. Bake for 20-30 minutes, until tops are golden brown. Allow to cool and remove from moulds. Store in fridge.

FROZEN TREATS.

mould tin

1 cup cooked very finely diced chicken

1/2 cooked rice

1 cup of chicken stock

1 tbsp parsley

In a blender or food processor , blend together all of the ingredients, spoon into moulds and place in freezer until solid.

CHEESY DOG BONES

YUMMY !!!

INGREDIENTS:

4 cups of flour 

2 cups grated cheddar cheese

2 tbsp/ 1/4 cup of oil

1 1/3 cup of water

METHOD:

Combine the flour with the cheese, stir in the oil and water. Adjust liquid as necessary to make a thick dough. Roll on a floured cutting board or work surface to 3/8" thick. Using a bone shaped cutter cut out shapes , place on greaseproof paper on a tray and place in oven. Bake for 2 1/2 - 3 hours at 120 degrees until thoroughly dry.
